International Transport Forum - 2014 annual summit Transport for a Changing World | 21-23 may 2014 - Leipsig, Germany | France presidency

To satisfy the needs of industry, agribusiness and commerce globally: the same unit for all modes of transport, road, rail, sea and waterways.

GETC stands for Groupement Européen du Transport Combiné, a small think tank created in 1999 and based in Paris.

It specialises in goods’ transport – road and road-rail combined transport – strongly supporting modal shift based on a proactive cooperation between all surface modes of transport.

1956-2015: from 35’ to 53’ - an innovation carrying globalisation.

With the project it is driving, GETC’s proposal is to use a standardised piece of equipment on road, rail, sea and inland waterways, based on a cloned semi-trailer with a common width of 8’6” or 2.60m for all 4 modes.
